Hallo und Willkommen zu Post Nummer Fünf des rC3-Kalenders!

Dieser Post hat einen zusätzlichen Tag gereift und kommt brandheiß daher! Entschuldigt, dass wir Euch hungrig haben warten lassen – wir sind sicher, dass es sich gelohnt hat.

Heute geht es um Kultur und Wissen-Schaffende featuring die Gesamtlage. Außerdem haben wir zwei Überraschungsgäste mit einer Kleinigkeit zum Mitmachen für die unter Euch, die gerne endlich mal alles anzünden wollen.

Wie zwischenzeitlich wahrscheinlich alle mitbekommen haben, hat Corona viele Branchen hart getroffen. Deshalb möchten wir heute daran erinnern, dass jedes Jahr auch zahllose Künstler:innen, Kreative und Veranstaltungsmenschen den Congress mit uns gestalten.

Sie bereichern die schnöde Technik, Elektroinstallationen, Traversen und Trennwände Jahr für Jahr um gesellschaftskritische Kunstinstallationen und faszinierend kreative Hingucker. Ohne sie wäre ein Congress nur eine graue Masse von kabelbepackten Tischen.

Hacken ist Kunst und Kunst ist Hacken  wo die beiden zusammentreffen, da lernen wir alle und erweitern unseren Horizont. Ob das eine VR-Experience über die Erfahrungen von Schweinen auf dem Weg zur Schlachtbank ist, eine mit dem Internet verbundene Schreibmaschine oder eine Installation aus alten U-Bahn-Anzeigetafeln: Sie alle sind Teil der mannigfaltigen Ausdrucksformen und Verkörperungen des Chaos.

Die Kunst ist Open Source, sie nutzt sich nicht ab, im Gegenteil, sie wird besser je öfter wir uns mit ihr auseinandersetzen.

Wenn Ihr könnt – oder aufgrund Eures Wohnorts kein Supporterticket kaufen konntet – dann überlegt Euch bitte, Kunstschaffende in Eurem Umfeld zu unterstützen! Denn auch die Technik kommt immer nur so weit wie die Kunst ist.

Zwei Menschen, bekannt für Ihre einzigartige Performance, dürfen wir Euch heute nach Hause bringen. Nicolas Wöhrl und Reinhard Remfort, den Produzenten des Podcasts Methodisch inkorrekt!, ist es gelungen, ihr Handwerk, die Physik, mit einem guten Gespür für Performance zu verbinden. Nach einigen kultigen Auftritten auf vergangenen Congressen sind sie mit ihrer Bühnenshow auf Tournee gegangen. Leider macht Corona auch keine Ausnahmen für Menschen, die anschaulich erklären könnten wie man seine Pfoten reinigt und sich Stoff korrekt vor die Nase schnallt.

Neben der schillernden Star-Karriere gönnen sich die zwei noch ein Zweitleben in der Wissenschaft – so gibt’s laufend neue Inhalte für die altbekannten Podcasts und ihren neuen Stream Optisch inkorrekt! Für uns haben sie ihre Kamera ausgepackt, um Euch vier kleine Experimente nach Hause zu bringen und Euch die dunkelste Jahreszeit zu erhellen. Wir freuen uns drauf, endlich gemeinsam mit Euch alles anzuzünden – natürlich ganz kreativ im Sinne der Wissenschaft!

Da „normale Leute“ (TM) offensichtlich zum Jahresende vier rituelle Flammen entzünden, wollten wir nicht nachstehen und haben das ebenfalls für Euch getan. Da wir diesmal auch nicht in Saal 1 waren sondern nur in unseren eigenen Arbeitszimmern, konnten wir die wesentlichen Sicherheitsmaßnahmen auch umgehen und waren so inhaltlich nicht beschränkt!
Bleibt gesund! Wir sehen uns auf der rC3 und hoffentlich im nächsten Jahr wieder in persona.

Das Kleingedruckte: Bitte zündet nur selektiv an und achtet beim Nachmachen auf eine feuersichere Umgebung. Für dieses Video kamen keine Katzen zu Schaden.

Im kommenden Jahr wird ein Dokumentarfilm mit dem obigen Namen in den (heimischen) Kinos laden. Der Film von Klaus Maeck und Tanja Schwerdorf reflektiert die (Gründungs-)Geschichte des Chaos und dessen, was wir hier und heute umsetzen.

Anknüpfend daran gibt es an dieser Stelle nicht wie die letzten beiden Wochen Cyber-Inhalte zum Cringen und Bestaunen. Heute ist das ein bisschen “analoger”, zumindest lässt es sich auf den handelsüblichen (nicht 3D-) Druckern realisieren. Die Datenschleuder ist das Club-Magazin und seit etwa 1984 in Zirkulation.

Hello and welcome to post No 5 of the rC3 calendar!

This post has matured an extra day and comes out steaming hot! Sorry for keeping you hungry and waiting – we’re sure it’s worth it.

Today it’s all about culture, knowledge and their creators feat. the overall situation. We also have two surprise guests with a little something to share for those of you who would like to finally light it all on fire.

As everyone has probably noticed by now, Corona has hit many industries hard. That’s why we would like to remind you that every year, countless artists, creative people and event technicians shape the Congress with us.

Year after year, they enrich the bland technology, electrical installations, trusses and partition walls with socially critical art installations and fascinatingly creative eye-catchers. Without them, Congress would be just a grey mass of cable-packed tables.

Hacking is art and art is hacking – where the two meet, we all learn and broaden our horizons. Whether it’s a VR experience about the experiences of pigs on their way to the slaughterhouse, a typewriter connected to the internet or an installation made of old metro display boards – they are all part of the manifold expressions and embodiments of chaos.

Art is open source, it doesn’t wear out, on the contrary, it gets better the more we engage with it.

If you can – or if you couldn’t buy a supporter ticket due to your location – please consider supporting artists in your area! Technology only ever reaches the state of the art.

Two people, known for their unique performance, we may bring home to you today. Nicolas Wöhrl and Reinhard Remfort, the producers of the podcast Methodisch inkorrekt! have managed to combine their craft, physics, with a knack for performance. After some iconic appearances at past Congresses, they have gone on tour in Germany with their stage show. Unfortunately, Corona makes no exceptions for people who could vividly instruct how to clean those hands and strap fabric correctly over people’s noses.

In addition to their glittering star career, the two of them still allow themselves a second life in academia, so there’s constantly new content for the old familiar podcasts and their new stream Optisch inkorrekt! For us, they have unpacked their camera to bring four little experiments to your home and to brighten up the darkest season of the year. We are looking forward to finally starting a fire with you – creatively in the spirit of science, of course!

Nicolas und Reinhard also included a short message:

Since “normal people” (TM) obviously light four ritual flames at the end of the year, we wanted to follow suit and did the same for you. Since we were not in Hall 1 this time either, but only in our own study rooms, we were also able to bypass the essential security measures and were thus not restricted in terms of content!

In the coming year, a documentary film called “Alles ist Eins. Außer der 0.” will launch in German cinemas. The film by Klaus Maeck and Tanja Schwerdorf reflects on the (founding) history of the Chaos Computer Club and where we are today.

Following on from this, there is no cyber content to cringe and marvel at here like the last two weeks. Today’s throwback content is a bit more “analogue”. At least it can be done on standard (non 3D) printers. The Datenschleuder is the club magazine and has been around since 1984.
