The CTEM Technology Evaluation Scorecard provides security leaders and technical evaluation teams with a practical framework for assessing technologies based on repeatable evidence, not feature claims.

Evaluate Technologies Across the CTEM Operating Model

Use the scorecard to assess how a technology contributes across six areas of a CTEM program:

• Discover Exposure: Identify the conditions and relationships that create potential exposure
• Validate Exploitability: Prove which exposures attackers can actually exploit and what successful exploitation makes possible
• Prioritize With Confidence: Use demonstrated exploitability and impact to improve remediation decisions
• Remediate With Clarity: Give remediation teams the evidence and context needed to eliminate exposure
• Verify Risk Removal: Actively retest to prove remediation removed the demonstrated exposure and attack path
• Repeat: Test frequently enough to demonstrate whether exploitable exposure is decreasing over time

Score Capabilities Based on Evidence

Rather than scoring technologies based solely on stated capabilities, the scorecard uses a 0–3 evaluation scale based on what the technology can demonstrate.

Scores range from capabilities that are not supported or depend primarily on inference and manual processes to evidence-based capabilities directly demonstrated through repeatable evidence in your environment.

For every score, evaluators also record the strongest evidence provided: none, documentation, demo, or proven in your environment.

Identify Critical Evidence Gaps

A weighted overall score provides a view of capability across the CTEM operating model, while dedicated evidence thresholds help prevent critical validation and verification gaps from being hidden by a strong overall score.

The scorecard places particular emphasis on Validate Exploitability and Verify Risk Removal, helping teams determine whether a technology can prove both that an exposure is exploitable and that remediation actually eliminated it.
