In today's interview, we are speaking with Komla Gatho, the creator behind DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE. This platform transforms scattered geopolitical signals into actionable insights, providing a critical lens on how global conflicts and energy disruptions impact markets.

What does DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE do? And why is now the time for it to exist?

DELAX GEO-RISK turns scattered geopolitical signals into a decision-ready view for people who need to understand how conflict and energy disruption move markets. The platform continuously pulls oil benchmark pricing, macroeconomic series, equity and FX data, and global news, then runs that material through an AI analysis layer to produce a country-level Stress Index and scenario briefs. Now’s a good time for DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE to exist because global markets are increasingly sensitive to rapid geopolitical shifts, requiring faster, AI-driven synthesis of scattered signals to manage risk and prevent critical blind spots effectively.

What is your traction to date? How many people does DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE reach?

DELAX GEO-RISK is early stage on distribution and mature on operation. The platform has been live in production on a custom domain since March 2026, serving 50+ unique visitors and 12 serverless function invocations over the last 30 days at 99.999 percent uptime. Coverage spans 60 plus countries.

Who does your DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE serve? What’s exciting about your users and customers?

Independent analysts and researchers, small and mid-sized funds without terminal budgets, energy and commodities traders, importers and exporters exposed to fuel and FX volatility, academic and policy researchers, and businesses operating in or sourcing from emerging markets.

What technologies were used in the making of DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE? And why did you choose the ones most essential to your tech stack?

The platform leverages robust Vercel serverless functions alongside a dynamic frontend built with vanilla JavaScript, Apache ECharts, and Three.js for interactive 3D globe visualizations. To ensure high availability and robust data analysis, it integrates multiple data sources like EIA, Finnhub, and FRED, while relying on a highly reliable dual-provider AI chain (Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude fallback) alongside Bright Data, Neo4j, and Algolia.

What is traction to date for DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE? Around the web, who’s been noticing?

At this early stage, DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE has focused primarily on building and operating a reliable platform rather than aggressive distribution. Currently, their audience reach is modest, with their X (formerly Twitter) distribution account (@delaxgeorisk) sitting at 53 followers, reflecting an honest and grounded starting point for their next phase of growth into a widely-read product.

What excites you about this DELAX GEO-RISK INTELLIGENCE's potential usefulness?

What excites me most is closing the gap between a geopolitical event and its actual financial consequence, especially for economies that get ignored. A tanker seizure makes headlines everywhere. What it does to a West African importer’s fuel costs six weeks out is analyzed almost nowhere. Building that answer into software, and watching the system hold up through a live conflict cycle rather than a test environment, is the most interesting work I have done. I will not stop here because there is more to this than where it currently sits.
