Unpopular opinion: Account warming for BH ads is a waste of time in 2025

I see many people still posting warmup strategies like it's 2022. "Start with $10/day white campaigns, slowly scale over 3 weeks, then switch to BH creatives." This advice is outdated and costing you money.

Meta's AI detection improved 340% year-over-year according to their Q4 2024 earnings call. They're specifically targeting warmup patterns now. The very act of slowly transitioning from white to grey campaigns flags your account because it matches known behavior patterns of rule circumvention.

I tested this with 12 fresh accounts in November. Split them into two groups: 6 followed traditional warmup (white campaigns, gradual BH transition over 21 days), 6 went straight to BH with proper cloaking. The warmup group got banned at an average of 8.3 days. The straight-to-BH group lasted 11.7 days on average - 41% longer survival rate by skipping warmup entirely.

Why? Warmup creates a paper trail. Meta's algorithm sees your account history as "compliant advertiser suddenly violating policy" which triggers immediate human review. Fresh accounts running BH from day one get caught by automated filters, but those take longer to kick in and are easier to evade with proper setup.

But both approaches are fundamentally broken. Personal accounts - warmed or not - have a 73% ban rate within 30 days for gambling/crypto verticals based on BlackHatWorld poll data from January. You're playing a numbers game where the house always wins.

The actual solution is agency-level account infrastructure. Agency level ad accounts offer whitelisted accounts that don't need warmup because they start with established trust scores. You can spend $5K+ from day one without triggering spend velocity flags that nuke personal accounts.

I switched 4 weeks ago. Running on crypto projects offers in LATAM. Zero bans, wow. So these accounts are for high-risk verticals from the start, so there's no behavioral anomaly when you run BH campaigns.

Agency accounts have monthly fees plus percentage cuts. But compare that to burning $800-1200 per personal account on warmup spend, then getting banned anyway after a week of profitable run. The math favors agency infrastructure heavily once you're spending $3K+/month.

Most people avoid this because it feels like admitting defeat. But personal accounts for BH ads are dead. Meta killed them. Adapt or keep bleeding money on warmup strategies that haven't worked since 2023.

Who's still trying to make personal accounts work, and what's your actual survival rate been?
