Before I even deployed the machine, I’ll be honest — I hesitated.
Seeing that bright red “HARD” tag next to the name gave me flashbacks of those moments when a CTF box makes you question all your skills, life choices, and the last two coffees you chugged. I’m someone who comfortably floats in the world of “EASY” boxes. You know, the kind that gives you a gentle pat on the back and lets you win without too many bruises. So, when I saw “HARD,” I almost hit that “Skip Room” button.
But something in me said,
“Come on. One attempt. What’s the worst that can happen?”
This week, I decided to dedicate time to web application attacks, and Daily Bugle seemed like a solid choice to test the waters. And guess what?
What looked intimidating at first, turned out to be an absolute gem of a challenge. By the time I rooted it, I actually laughed at how straightforward it felt once the pieces came together.
It’s one of those moments where you go in thinking it’s going to be a horror film and it turns out to be an action-comedy.
