ServiceNow Inc. announced on Tuesday plans to acquire Veza in a move aimed at fortifying security for identity and access management.

The acquisition will integrate Veza’s technology into ServiceNow’s Security and Risk portfolios, helping organizations monitor and control access to critical data, applications, systems, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The deal comes as businesses increasingly deploy autonomous AI agents, raising new concerns about managing permissions and preventing breaches.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“In the era of agentic AI, every identity — human, AI agent, or machine — is a force for enterprise impact,” Amit Zavery, ServiceNow’s president, chief operating officer, and chief product officer, said in a statement. “It’s only when you have continuous visibility into each identity’s permissions that you can trust it.”

Modern enterprises face mounting challenges in managing identities across employees, partners, systems, applications, devices, and now AI agents. As cybercriminals adopt AI to launch more sophisticated attacks, companies are seeking robust controls to ensure permissions stay aligned with changing roles and regulations.

Veza’s platform centers on its Access Graph technology, which maps and analyzes access relationships across human, machine, and AI identities. The system provides security teams with granular visibility to manage these complex access patterns.

“Veza was built to make identity security transparent, scalable, and effective for every organization,” Veza CEO Tarun Thakur said. “With ServiceNow, we will help customers embrace AI with greater confidence.”

The combined platform will support next-generation identity governance capabilities, including access reviews, permission updates, and comprehensive visibility that legacy systems lack.

John Stecher, chief technology officer at Blackstone, said his firm already uses both platforms. “ServiceNow powers our horizontal business workflows, while Veza enforces least privilege and adds identity access intelligence at scale,” he said. “Together, they’ll enable more secure and scalable workflows for enterprise businesses.”

The integration will also enhance ServiceNow’s AI Control Tower by governing what AI agents can access across enterprises. Veza will add identity context to existing ServiceNow products including Vulnerability Response, Incident Response, and Integrated Risk Management.

Founded in 2020, Veza serves nearly 150 global enterprise customers across banking, hospitality, and consumer goods sectors. The company employs 230 people worldwide.

Once the deal closes, Veza’s identity visibility, intelligence, and governance capabilities will be incorporated into ServiceNow’s security portfolio. The transaction requires regulatory approvals and is subject to customary closing conditions.
