Sorry, not a professional. Got a (hopefully) quick question. Can I use WinHex to export a .ctr file to files and folders readable by windows?
I was able to view the folder structure today with a trial version of Forensics Explorer, but the trial won’t export. The 90 day trial will, but that’s $250 and WinHex is $50 for personal use.
The manual for WinHex is 266 pages long. I skimmed it but couldn’t find an answer.
If WinHex isn’t what I need, is the $250 90 day trial of full-feature Forensics Explorer the cheapest software that will do what I need?
The group FAQ compelled me to add the following: This file is my personal data for a drive that is claimed to have been “lost” under suspicious circumstances. I have a court order which shows I am entitled to the data and the other party is currently in contempt of court over it. All I need to do is export this one file for my personal use, and I’ll never need the software again. And yes, the company I paid $800 to get the .ctr file from will probably be happy to expand it for me at $250/hr. I’m hoping to avoid that.
