Classroom Manager Updates: More Control for Teachers & Admins

Create, Find & Manage Classes with Ease

Managing digital classrooms just got easier. The new Classes tab in Classroom Manager gives teachers and admins a central hub to create, manage, and launch sessions, whether synced automatically from Google or built manually, all in one streamlined view.

Here’s what’s new:

• Automatic Google Sync: Google “Classrooms” now sync every 24 hours, keeping rosters up to date automatically.
• Creating New Classes: Create individual classes or upload multiple at once with the new import tool and downloadable template.
• Finding and Filtering Classes: Find classes faster by filtering by name, teacher, student, or active session status, all from one streamlined dashboard.
• Understanding the Class List: The summary section lists all available classes for access and management.
• Actions to Manage Individual Classes: Edit names, add or remove students, schedule recurring sessions, view history, delete outdated classes, or launch a live session instantly.

  With these enhancements, Classroom Manager delivers a faster, more intuitive way for educators and IT teams to organize, launch, and manage digital classes.

A New Live Session Experience for Real-Time Classroom Insight

The new Session Tab offers a modernized, teacher-friendly command center for monitoring student activity, guiding lessons, and making sure students stay on track (in real time).

Highlights include:

• Student View: View every connected student in one grid, with controls to pin, zoom, or filter by connection status.
• Perform Specific Individual Actions: Take screenshots, view browsing history, close active tabs, or remove a user from the class session directly from each student card.
• Advanced Individual Actions: Block URLs, set active tabs, or remove students from the session with one click.
• Real-Time Session Dashboard: Track metrics like connected users, top sites, sub-sessions, unique sites, and time remaining at a glance.
• Class-Wide Management Tools: Apply Scenes, manage user’s browser tabs, and chat directly with students during lessons.

  Teachers can even enable bi-directional chat, allowing students to message or respond while in class, encouraging collaboration and improving classroom communication in both in-person and hybrid settings.

Cloud Monitor Updates: Smarter Email Search, More Visibility, and Faster Investigations

Smarter Email Searching for Faster Threat Detection

Staying ahead of phishing and data exposure risks just got easier. Cloud Monitor’s enhanced Email Search gives IT admins the flexibility to perform both risk-based and real-time searches, all from one dashboard.

Choose between two options:

• Email Messages Tab: Search for emails that contain only risks or have attachments, perfect for ongoing monitoring and incident reviews.
• Live Email Search: Performs real-time API search of all emails in your environment for deeper investigations, using detailed parameters for precise and quicker results.

  Admins can now filter by subject, sender, attachment name, mailboxes, recipient, domain, or email message ID to locate threats faster than ever, helping K-12 IT teams stay proactive and efficient in protecting student data.

A Redesigned Emails Tab

The redesigned Emails Tab provides an even clearer, more comprehensive view of risky or sensitive email activity in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.

What’s new:

• Advanced Filtering: Layer multiple filters (subject, sender, attachment name, mailbox, recipients, domain, and email message Id) for targeted searches.
• Quick Filters: Easily filter emails instantly (phishing, malware, risk, incoming emails, outgoing emails, and shared within domain). Apply further filters for email date, quarantine status, malicious messages, and more.
• Visual Risk Indicators: Identify priority threats faster with clear phishing and risk icons beside each message. The number of attachments, sender, recipients, and mailboxes also are identified.
• Actionable Tools: Once the email is identified, you can download, preview, or share details via email without leaving the platform, and export reports in CSV, PDF, or EML formats.
• Persistent Live Search Results: Completed real-time searches now stay available for 24 hours, allowing for follow-up and deeper analysis.

  These upgrades make it easier than ever for admins to detect, review, and respond to potential email-based threats, helping districts maintain compliance and security with confidence.

Whether it’s empowering teachers to manage digital classrooms more effectively or giving IT teams better email search tools to detect threats, these updates reflect our ongoing commitment to helping K-12 districts create safe, connected, and efficient learning environments.
