The travel and hospitality industry is dynamic, growing, and incredibly lucrative, full of both classic traditions and new trends.

According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the travel and tourism industry will contribute $11.7 trillion to the global economy, accounting for 10.3% of global GDP (gross domestic product). Against this impressive backdrop, it is important to highlight that the travel industry’s success is also a magnet for cybercriminal activity.

With this in mind, the BforeAI threat research team at PreCrime Labs, sought to determine the level of travel-related scam activity being actively planned for the 2025 travel season. As a result, approximately 7500 domains were collected in the first 3 months of 2025, in which we identified scams targeting at least 86 distinct brands across the travel and hospitality industry.
