SatDump is a popular program used to receive and decode images and other data from various weather satellites. SatDump works great RTL-SDR Blog dongles and with our Discovery Dish, an easy-to-use dish and feed for receiving L-band and other weather satellites. Recently SatDump version 1.2.0 was released, which brings several new features including:
- Geostationary Satellite Products - Allows the creation of advanced composites and projection options. One new composite feature allows the creation of day/night composites where false color and IR images are combined to create a fully visible disk, even when the Earth is partly shadowed.
- METEOR KMSS Support - X-Band downling for Meteor-M satellites.
- New Projection System and GeoTIFF - The ability to export or import industry standard GeoTIFF files.
- Fill Missing Lines - With this option SatDump can automatically fill in any missing lines caused by interference or signal dropouts.
- Orbcomm STX Plotter - Uses Orbcomm satellites to plot what parts of the sky your 137 MHz can 'see' clearly.
- METEOR Telemetry - Support for decoding the telemetry of the Meteor-M satellites, giving information such as temperature/current of the various instruments.
- Added Composites - Various composites added.
- Image System Rewrite - Improve the image writing system for low-end hardware like the Raspberry Pi.
