What’s New for SAP Application Extension Methodology

With the SAP Application Extension Methodology version 2.2, we now provide full documentation on the SAP Help Portal. In this documentation, all templates are described in detail and are available for download.

This update comes with improved technology-agnostic extension tasks and a refined extension technology mapping.

If you are still using an older version of the extension technology mapping, I highly recommend checking out our new version and learn about the newest innovations and technologies on SAP BTP.

Extension Architecture Guide

The methodology is part of the SAP BTP Guidance Framework. With this framework we provide a central access point for architects, developers, and administrators to build and run enterprise-grade solutions on SAP BTP.

As part of the SAP BTP Guidance Framework, we also offer now the extension architecture guide. Learn about the extension architecture guide and how you can use it to determine which SAP technology should be used in a given scenario. The first decision guide helps to identify the right technical extension building block for your presentation tier and the extension task: create custom user interface for web and mobile apps.

The guide provides decision guidance for the following technical extension building blocks:
