On December 6, 2023, an exciting new feature delivery (FD) was released for SAP Central Business Configuration. This blog post will provide you with a comprehensive overview of these new features, with insights into how they can help to streamline your day-to-day operations.
Scope Import and Integration with Digital Discovery Assessment
We’re excited to announce a new feature in our Define Scope app – the ability to import scope selections. This addition offers you two convenient options.
The first option is to import the scope directly from the Digital Discovery Assessment (DDA) for SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Any scope chosen during the presales phase in DDA can now be exported as a JSON file, then seamlessly imported into SAP Central Business Configuration. This streamlines your workflow and saves you valuable time and effort.
The second option provides you with a sample JSON flat file downloadable from the Define Scope app. You can fill this out and reimport it, allowing you to reuse the file for multiple projects, hence enhancing efficiency and time management.
Upon completion of the import process, a summary pops up, providing a quick rundown of the success of the process and any potential issues to watch out for. This feature also lets you easily verify if the scope initially selected in the DDA aligns with the scope available through SAP Central Business Configuration. This ensures consistency and accuracy across the two tools.
Enhanced Flexibility for Non-Standard Scenario Selection
Up until recently, the selection of many non-standard scenarios wasn’t a direct process, but rather required a ticket request. Now, in an effort to streamline operations and increase flexibility, we’ve made it possible for you to select more non-standard scenarios on your own.
To ensure you’re fully informed, we’ve added warning messages that state the requirements and implications of each non-standard scenario. This enhancement allows for more direct and independent selection of non-standard scenarios, thereby eliminating the need for a lot of the ticket creation and saving you precious time.
Moreover, each time a non-standard scenario is selected and the corresponding warning message is confirmed, this activity of confirming the message is also recorded in Change Logs. This allows you to keep track of all changes made, providing an added layer of transparency.
Streamlining the Process of Giving Feedback
Providing feedback has never been more straightforward. Today, you can share your thoughts about SAP Central Business Configuration with just a simple click of a button. This action will prompt a concise survey to appear, featuring a few closed-ended questions and one open-ended query for detailed commentary. Furthermore, a popup will appear every once in a while to invite you to share feedback as well.
We’ve introduced this feature with the intention of fostering a culture of open feedback. Recognizing the value of your time, we’ve ensured this process is as effortless as possible, minimizing the time you need to invest. Your feedback is integral to our continuous improvement, and we eagerly await your invaluable insights.
Better Control: The Ability to Remove Deployment Targets
Up until now, you’ve had the flexibility to modify your deployment target before finalizing the Confirm Scoping is Completed milestone. However, the option to remove it completely was unavailable, you could only swap it out with a different one. With our latest update, we’ve expanded your control in the Scope phase by allowing the removal of deployment targets.
This update provides you with the freedom to unassign a mistakenly assigned deployment target, offering ample time to carefully select the most suitable deployment target for your project. This ensures that the Confirm Scoping is Completed milestone isn’t prematurely confirmed. This is all part of our commitment to providing you with a more secure and efficient experience.
