Introduction
It might occur that you are in need of moving documentation and processes from one Work Item to another. This might be because it was attached by mistake or the Work Item needs to be withdrawn or reverted and the attached documentation is denying the withdrawl.
Focused Build supports on documenting changes, helps you on not forgetting any changes done in the development system, and forces you to deploy a change into production, when it was already deployed into a test system. So to get rid of a change is not wanted by Focused Build.
This is not only for change to the system this is also for changes in the documentation. This is why you cannot simply delete the documentation.
However, you can move the documentation from one Work Item to another.
Preconditions
You have a Work Item with documentation and process attached, where you want to remove the documentation (source Work Item).
Work Item with process and document attached.
You also have a Work Item where you want to move the documentation (target Work Item).
How to move the Documentation
In the source Work Item you click on ‘Move Structure’.
Click on ‘Move Structure’.
Afterwards you get the structure shown which can be moved.
Choose Target Work Item.
You now choose the documentation (structure) you like to move. You do not have to move the whole documentation, you can also move parts of it. Unless you do not want to withdraw the source Work Item. If you want to withdraw the source Work Item afterwards, you need to move the complete documentation. All processes and documents.
Mark and move structure.
