Universe Designer- Launch Issue- “Open Session: Unexpected error”

Symptom

• Cannot log to Universe Designer
• Error when logging to Designer.
• Error: Internal error: “Open Session: Unexpected error”

Reproducing the Issue

• Launch Designer
• Enter credentials.

Environment

• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.x
• Universe Designer XI 4.x

Cause

• The user login information files have become corrupted.

Steps

BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R3

1. Find the lsi folder: %Documents and Settings\<useraccount>\Application Data\Business
   Objects\Business Objects 12.0\lsi
2. Delete all the files in that directory.

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.0

1. Find the lsi folder: %Documents and Settings\<useraccount>\Application Data\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\lsi
2. Delete all the files in that directory
