Daniela started her life the other way around than most people do – that is how she describes it herself. “I got pregnant at 17, got married, and had to learn how a household was run before I started my career”, the now 42-year-old explains. It was only when her family was well cared for and organized that Daniela started her career in Telecommunications – something that would accompany her for more than 10 years. 

SAP appeared by chance on her radar 

That was when she decided to change her life dramatically. “I wanted to learn something new and focus on something that I was passioante about”, Daniela recounts. She enrolled at university and studied process management and production engineering and after a while, she stumbled upon a list with 10 renowned companies in the tech industry. “SAP was one of them, of course”, the woman from Brazil says, knowing that this would be her path to happiness and contentment.  

“I was given the opportunity to do an internship at SAP in the Customer Office team and from then on, I decided that I wanted a consolidated career in this company.” For her, it was as simple as that, she explains, saying that her age – back then Daniela was already 36 and older than usual interns – was a huge advantage for her. “I knew how to handle job interviews; I wasn’t afraid and my background in Telecommunications was relevant – so I was offered the position and worked as a project analyst.”

Her hunger for learning paid off 

During her time at SAP, Daniela made the most out of all the learning and development offerings her employer provided. “I discovered the free learning journeys on SAP Learning site like “Onboarding with SAP Activate for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition”, developed my soft skills, learned about implementation and adoption every time I had a minute to spare.” Daniela says she knew she had to keep up with the latest innovations to deliver the best work she could and which she demanded of herself. “I just never stopped studying. This is something that motivates me, I have this hunger to learn and experience something new every day. I really enjoy being in continuous improvement, there is a new challenge every day!” 

And it paid off. “I got a permanent position this year at SAP and I’m very passionate about this job, the company and, above all, the team, which is very united and always has this spirit of goodwill”, Daniela explains. For her, she says, gaining SAP skills and landing a job with her dream employer was life changing. “It’s an inspiration to see how I can positively influence customers and colleagues. SAP is more than just a job to me. It was a big life change, for the better. I found something that made me feel good and even happier, and since then I’ve dedicated myself to succeeding on this path. And I still have a lot to do.”
