As part of making awareness of our new S4/HANA Waste Management solution, I want to start presenting our team members – the working bees, the first of whom will be our colleague Vilian.

Role: Software Developer

For how long have you been with the team? 

I have been working in SAP and particularly in the EHS Waste Management team for the past seven months.

What is your favorite thing about working on EHS Waste Management? 

I love working with my team. I think we are very close, and we can talk about anything. 

 Everyone is doing their best and never hesitates to help each other.

 Being involved in every aspect of the software development lifecycle is

 something that I believe is great. 

 There are always opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Can you share one challenge you faced in your role, and how did you overcome it?

There was a difficult task that I had to handle once. It was complex and required skills that I didn’t have. I struggled with it for quite some time and felt lost. But in the Waste Management team, we can always rely on each other. We are so close and always help one another. Pushing ourselves to become better and better. That is what happened in my case. Colleagues with a lot of experience managed to guide me through this difficult time. That’s why I am ever grateful to my team for always helping me to grow and develop myself as a software developer and a colleague. A colleague who can always be trusted in difficult times.

What are you most excited about working on in the next year?

Well, I am most excited about the new responsibilities that I will have in next year accordance with the new skills that I will have to obtain. I am also excited that we are going to work with the latest technologies.

What advice would you give to someone interested in working in the software industry? 

Learn as much as possible. Be open-minded. Accept new technologies and be aware of their potential and threats. Be curious about how things work. And finally, have fun.

Bonus question 1: What is your favorite feature of our product? 

I think our product has a lot of great and useful features. Features that help our customers adopt the vision of sustainability and enhance their scalability. My favorite feature is managing the dangerous goods in the waste products. It’s a very complex and powerful feature from which our clients can benefit a lot. 

 It can increase productivity and reduce the costs.

Bonus question 2: Care to share a hobby or interest?

Hiking, playing games, reading, and watching movies are some of the things I like to do.

 I also love to swim and play different kinds of sports.
