During his recovery period, he discovered that computer technology could help him regain independence and freedom. He began to learn programming and obtained a computer science degree in college.
Brian did not give up on his dreams because of his visual impairment. Instead, he fully leveraged his strengths and used computer technology to improve the quality of his life. He also hoped to use his experience and skills to help others with visual impairments.
Brian eventually joined Google and played an important role in the development of Google Maps and Geospatial services, receiving many honors and awards.
