zasm has now enough support to be basically a full fledged x86 assembler to generate binaries. The long term goal is to have a binary-rewriter framework built around zasm, so one day we can go from PE to zasm and then back to PE, this obviously requires way more work such as proper static analysis which I'm also working on.
