My 20-minute keynote at IDC Spain’s Digital Cybersecurity Forum on February 15th addressed the issues of how to help companies and public organizations transform digitally in a safe way, and how to solve the challenges that security managers face in our 2022 landscape of users and data that can be located anywhere:
To begin with, and from a general perspective, I explained that our goals as a cybersecurity leader are to protect users against external and internal threats, establish controls on the use of the Internet, control the access and use of the cloud, enable shadow IT control and facilitate access to private corporate applications. These are the requirements to safeguard our most valuable asset: information. A data-centric approach is fundamental for our security architectures and has to form an integral part of security strategies in a hybrid workplace where security should ultimately serve as a business facilitator and enabler.
At Forcepoint, we specifically address the aformentioned challenges by adhering to 2 strategic constructs. The first consists in simplifying security. To do this we propose a convergent platform that allows organizations to adopt an SSE architecture built on market-leading technology in the protection and prevention of information leaks. These are technologies recognized by security analysts for their advanced information detection and protection capabilities, multi-channel application and ability to apply adaptive policies based on user behavior. Our second pillar is based on flexibility, or the capacity to deliver hybrid, zero-trust solutions adapted to the specific needs of each organization and its distinct resources. The increasing complexity of infrastructures and the rate at which new technologies and threats emerge make it difficult to find the necessary skills and knowledge within the enterprise. For this reason, we also offer organizations the option of attaining the best security through managed services.
To conclude, we had the opportunity and privilege to analyze the cybersecurity challenges and priorities of local government entities together with Esther Muñoz, Deputy Director General of Cybersecurity, Data Protection and Privacy at Madrid Digital. We examined the challenges experienced by Madrid Digital, which prompted them to embark on a secure browsing project with Forcepoint. Esther Muñoz shared valuable insights around the process that led to the project, and we also discussed their security priorities for 2022. Stay tuned for exciting developments to come in this secure digital journey!
